  6. INSTALLATION:
  7. -------------

  9. Copy all the VBX and DLL files to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory
  10. and create a directory (eg \BBSEDIT) for the rest files.
  11.  
  12. A sample INI file (BBSEDIT.INI) is provided as an example of the various
  13. configuration options of BBSEDIT. If you want to use it, you must copy 
  14. it to your \WINDOWS directory.

  17. ABOUT BBSEDIT:

  20. BBS Edit is a program that enables you to create or revise plain text 
  21. files. It works just like Notepad , the Windows editor, but contains 
  22. the following enhancements :

  25. Multiple Document Interface, allows you to open more than one text
  26. files simultaneously. You can copy, paste or compare files easily.
  27.  
  28. Toolbar and Status Line, for easy access and explanation of common
  29. tasks. Floating Toolbox, optionally, instead of Toolbar.
  30.  
  31. Unix To Dos conversion, converts Unix text files (frequently found on
  32. Internet) to Dos text files.
  33.  
  34. File Locator, searches any disk or path for a type of file  ( wild 
  35. cards supported ).
  36.  
  37. Page Options and True Type font support, allow you to print the file
  38. in various formats.

  40. Recent File Memory, for easy opening of the last 10 files you have
  41. edited.

  43. Read-in function, inserts contents of an existing file.
  44.  
  45. ANSI escape sequence insertion, for ANSI coloured graphic files.

  47. Character Translation feature, for multilingual support. Can be 
  48. configured, and enabled / disabled from a button or from command
  49. line options.

  51. Windows to DOS character set conversion utility (Greek version only).

  53. Signature insertion, for automatic signing of your e-mail.

  59. If none of the Toolboxes can appear, you may have an old copy of
  60. MSGBLAST.VBX in your system. Upgrade to the version provided with
  61. BBSEDIT. If both old and new versions are needed, try removing this
  62. file from your Windows or System subdirectory and keep the appropriate
  63. copies of MSGBLAST.VBX in the directories where it is needed. For any
  64. other problem please contact the author to have it fixed.
